**Design and Durability**
I will start with few words about the actual design of the phone. The phone is really lightweight with only 136g and with 5.2' screen you can operate this phone with one hand without any problems. The back of the phone is made of polycarbonate and that's one of the reasons why this phone is so lightweight.

The camera bump on the back of the phone is one of the most disliked design solutions, but after some months of use, you will neglect this strange design. You can buy this phone in 3 different colors - Black, White, Mint. The Nexus 5X includes the USB-C port on the bottom of the frame instead of micro USB, and it's joined by 3.5mm headphone jack.On the right side of the phone are the power button and the volume rocker. The SIM card slot is on the left side.
Since it is made from plastic, the expectations for the Nexus 5x in terms of durability are not so high. But with the Mohs Scale pics that are used to see how far the screen can survive the scratches, the first scratch only appeared with pic 6(orthoclase) and it only became more prominent with pic 7(quartz). This means it is as strong and scratch resistant as the previous phones tested, only they were supposedly made from stronger material and were more premium in price. But when it comes to the back, as expected, the plastic is easily scratched. The screen can last 8 seconds in front of an open flame before pixels to turn off. But after it was removed from the flame, it went back to normal and the screen is fully functional.

Positives:
+Lightweight phone.
+Modern design.
+Durable screen
Negatives:
-Camera bulge
-Plastic body lacks premium attractiveness
**Phone Performance**
I'm using Nexus 5x for more than a year and I can share my honest observations. I'm really happy that I bought this phone, I switch from Samsung to Nexus5x(LG) and I think that this was a very good decision. Using pure and clear Android was something that I was missing on my Samsung device. With 2GB RAM this phone is working really smooth.I can start 10-15 applications without any problem and the phone remain smooth and snappy without any lag. Playing AAA mobile games from other hands is painful activity, your phone will lag and sometimes can freeze. But if play some small and not so resource-consuming games there will be no problems at all.

What about the battery life? Well, there is good and bad news. Having small phone brings a smaller battery, however, Nexus 5X battery life gets me through the day with heavy use.Nexus 5X is still able to go the distance of a full day because of Google's software tricks like Doze mode and App standby. As long as you're not expecting a multimedia powerhouse, it'll perform just fine. Here's the even better news about the Nexus 5X battery. Once it finally does deplete, it quickly charges back up thanks to its USB-C fast charging capabilities.
Another big advantage is that you can use this phone with one hand. I'm not a fan of the big phones and when I put this phone in my hand, I was really pleased. I was really happy that putting my phone in my jeans was again possible "feature".
Positives:
+Pure Android Nougat 7.1.1
+Fast OS updates(one of the first phone to take new updates)
+Compact phone which can be used with one hand
Negatives:
-Small battery
-Playing AAA mobile games is not pleasant experience

**Tweaks**
There are few tricks that you can do in order to optimize your Nexus 5x phone. Of course doing them you will outstep your warranty, so you need to be careful.
- You can unlock your bootloader - this is a prerequisite for the other tweaks.
- You can flash custom recovery - this tool will help you to flash 3rd party ROMs. I recommend TWRP 3.1.0-0
- After you flash your custom recovery you can flash customer Kernal which will give you additional functionalities like -Overclock or underclock CPU, Advanced color control, Wake gestures, Camera launch gesture Sweep2sleep, Sound control, Touchboost option, Thermal control. I recommend two very good Kernels - Franco Kernal or ElementalX-N5X
- You can Root your phone - so there are some programs that will need full access on your phone in order to do needed modifications. Rooting your phone is giving you full control of your phone.
- You can install Advanced Interactive Governor Tweaks - this tweaks will boost your battery life. In order to do needed tweaks, you should install first Ex KernalManager. More information about this application you can find in my previous posts.
Warning - A lot of users reported a big problem doing some of these operations. The problem is hardware related and it is confirmed by LG and it is known as - Hardware bootloop. So what happened is that your phone stuck in the booting phase and it will loop forever. So your phone will be unusable. So all of the tweaks that you are doing are on your risk. I did all of the presented tweaks and my phone works without any problem.
**Price**
So you need to be clever here and to find the best possible price for this phone. I bought my phone for about 240$ and for this price this phone it's a bargain. You need to have in mind that there are two versions of this phone with 16GB and 32 GB Internal storage, I personally recommend you to choose 32GB version.
**Closing thoughts**
Yes, Nexus 5x is 2015 phone, but if you can buy it for some good price, this phone will serve you excellently. With some small tweaks, you can boost your phone and you will be pretty happy with the overall performance. For sure there are better phones on the market, but they are of course more expensive. So you need first to check your budget and after that to make a wise decision - budget phone or overpriced flagship.Copyrights&Disclamer
